New to the site? Hate wasting time?
Be sure to read "Stay Informed" below, then join the
testingcraft-news mailing list.
This site allows the community of testers to collectively improve our skills by sharing detailed descriptions of specific techniques. Find out more here:
See also the FAQ.
You, however, probably want to get straight to the techniques. That information is here:
You will find an index of techniques, currently loosely organized. Techniques are described in a variety of ways, depending on what information is available. We particularly like to see case studies, like this short one or this longer one.
There are two ways to use this site. In the first, you have some task to accomplish. You come to the site, browse, and - with luck - find the information you need.
In the second - the one I personally prefer - the information comes to you. You get mail saying what's new on the site. You click through, see the new material, and file a pointer to it away in your long-term memory. Knowing roughly where to find out more about a vast array of topics is part of being an expert. We offer three mailing lists. Pick a combination that provides you the information you want.
The forum is where people discuss their experience with particular techniques.
Where do case studies come from? They can come from anywhere, but there are considerable advantages in having everyone banging away on the same products. So we have a certain set of "preferred testing victims" for use in case studies.
